To me, this is one of the most underrated ways of making money online. A lot of people don’t know there’s so much money in creating content on social media.
I also didn’t know there was so much money in content creation until I started my podcast and youtube channel.
When I started a podcast with my best friend in 2020, we started making money on the podcast after just 1 month, and when I started my YouTube Channel in 2020, I started making money after just 2 months (I will tell you more about how I started making money fast, later in this blog post).
But before you can create content online, you must be knowledgeable about something. Something that will EDUCATE or ENTERTAIN people. Something that will add value to people.
There are a lot of people who have skills and knowledge that people are even willing to pay for, but they are afraid or shy to start sharing their knowledge online or put themselves out there.
No matter the kind of person you are, there is a platform for you to create content and get paid. You have:
- YouTube
- Podcast
- Blog
- Patreon
- Twitch
- Tiktok, etc.
If you are comfortable in front of the camera, you can start putting out videos on Youtube, Instagram, and Tiktok. If you are the kind of person who is camera-shy, you can decide to start blogging or go on Patreon or Start a Podcast.
How Much Do You Need To Start Creating Content?
You can start creating content on Instagram, Tiktok, and Patreon for free. You can start a blog for free.
There are platforms that can allow you to host your websites for free, you can even start creating content on Youtube for free, but if you have the money, you can decide to get a good camera and lighting.
But if you are doing a faceless channel, then you don’t need a camera.

To be honest with you, there’s so much money you can make with content creation. There’s no limit to it.
It also depends on the platform where you are creating content. A Tiktoker might not be making as much as a Youtuber Blogger makes.

This can be in form of Crypto Trading or Forex Trading.
Nowadays, when you tell some people about crypto or forex, they are like “NO! I’m not doing it again, I’ve lost enough money” or they tell you “NA SCAM”.
This is mostly because of their first experience with crypto or forex. Maybe the person that introduced it to them said they should put money in crypto or forex and they would get a very high ROI in a short period of time, and then they lost their money.
Trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme, it’s not a Ponzi scheme or a pyramid scheme. Trading is a skill. You have to learn it to know it and make money from it.
Just like how you have to learn coding to be very good, just like how you have to learn video editing to be very good, you have to learn trading to be a very good and profitable trader too.

Affiliate marketing made me the most money in 2021. After I started my content creation journey on YouTube, I made my research and got to know that I could be making money even before I get monetized on YouTube. And a very good way to do that is through affiliate marketing.
Since I was making videos about finance, I started to talk about the finance apps I use on my phone and then I tell people to use my link to create an account on these apps, and I get a commission whenever people use my link. I’m currently earning affiliate income from 7 different finance apps and websites.
Not just that, in 2020, I joined the Jumia affiliate program, and then I started putting links to my microphone, ring light, and other recording accessories, on my videos.
Whenever people purchase these items through my affiliate link, I get paid a particular commission.
One thing I always tell people about affiliate marketing is that it is very easy for you when you have an audience, or when you have a platform, but no matter how small your audience is, you can still make money with affiliate marketing.
4. Digital Products
Digital products are products that you can sell online and people can stream or download. They can be in form of videos, PDFs, templates, audio, etc. The most common digital products you can sell are ebooks and courses.
I’m someone who prefers to teach by talking, and that’s why I prefer to create a video course.

One thing about selling digital products is that you don’t even need a large audience, you just have to sell something people really NEED.

There are so many free apps and tools that you can use to create an online course or ebook. And once you create a digital product, you can continue to sell it to millions of people without having to create it again.
And you don’t even have to be awake to make sales, this means you can automate it.
If you have knowledge about something, you should start planning on how to create an ebook or a course with your knowledge in 2022.
A lot of people now prefer to learn online than in school. Digital creators are getting rich day by day and you can also be part of them in 2022.
5. Membership Groups
This means that you create a group where you can share your knowledge, teach a skill, or give something of value to people, and then they pay you money to join the group.
It can be a yearly or monthly payment, or anyhow you want the payment plan to be.
You literally don’t need any money to start a membership group. You can create a group on WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord, or even open a Patreon account.
These platforms are all free to use.
The amount of money you can make from this depends on how much you charge for your membership group and the number of people in the group.
